Introduction

On my honor, I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character, or the public trust.
I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions.
I will always uphold the constitution, the community, and the agency I serve.
So help me God.

Those are the responsibilities officers swear to uphold, never to betray the public's trust. Officer's jobs are to practice the law and uphold it. All across America it is becoming more common that these same officers that swear to protect the community are abusing their power. Police brutality has become a common practice for some officers, the officers that engage in police brutality betray the oath they took. Police brutality exists everywhere from the street corners, to jail cells, courtrooms, TV shows, and movies. It is a problem because it misrepresents the justice system, ignores civil liberties, glorifies violent behavior, and breaks up the community.
